Birth. (No date found), Rome. Son of Marozia, sister of Popes Benedict VIII and John XIX. Cousin of Pope Benedict IX. Grandson of Count Gregorio I di Tusculum. He is also listed as Petrus II.

Cardinalate. Bishop cardinalis of Silva Candida (or Santa Rufina) in 1025, or 1026. Consecrated (no information found). Participated in the Roman Synod of 1026. Three days later, on December 17, 1026, he received the privilege by which, inter alia, he was to anoint and consecrate the emperor and to be the legal representative of the pope, when the latter was ill or was unable to perform the ceremony. Subscribed a papal bull issued by Pope Benedict IX in favor of the church of Florence, with which he confirmed a privilege granted by Pope John XIX. Chancellor and librarian of the Holy Roman Church in the pontificate of Pope Benedict IX. In November 1037, he received from the pope the privilege of enthroning the Roman pontiff on the Apostolic See; the title of the document was Convenit apostolico; the pope also gave his successors in the see of Silva Candida the post of librarian of the Holy Roman Church.

Death. 1049 (1), (no place found). Buried in the church of S. Alessio all'Aventino, next to the tomb of his mother, with an epitaph in verses.

Birth. Ca. 1001, Rome. Of a patrician family. He is also listed as Joannes I.

Cardinalate. Deacon cardinalis of S. Agata in Suburra ca. 1025 (or 1024, or 1030). Subscribed papal bulls issued in September 1025; and March 28 and September 1027. Replaced Cardinal deacon Pietro as chancellor of the Holy Roman Church. He attended, together with Pope John XIX, the consecration of the patriarchal cathedral of Aquileia, erected by Poppone, patriarch of that see, on July 13, 1031.

Episcopate. Named bishop of Palestrina by Pope Benedict IX on December 2, 1036 (1). He consecrated the altar of the diaconal church of S. Agata in Suburra in honor of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Death. December 13, 1040, at 38 years of age (2), (no place found). Buried in his former deaconry, between his brothers Pietro and Andrea, with a long epitaph.
