Birth. (No date found), rione Trastevere, Rome. Son of Guido Papareschi. Nephew of Pope Innocent II. He is also listed as Cinthius Capellus; and his last name as di Guidoni Papareschi.

Education. (No information found).

Cardinalate. Created cardinal deacon of S. Adriano in the consistory of February/March 1158. Participated in the papal election of 1159, in which Pope Alexander III was elected. Subscribed papal bulls issued between May 16, 1158 and May 30, 1159; April 9, 1161 and September 6, 1178. Opted for the order of cardinal priests and the title of S. Cecilia in September 1178. Subscribed papal bulls issued between October 1, 1178 and May 24, 1181; November 9, 1181 and June 18, 1182. Legate in Hungary with Cardinal Giulio, bishop of Palestrina. Participated in the papal election of 1181, in which Pope Lucius III was elected. He built a church in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary according to an inscription on marble in the church of S. Giacomo Settignano in Trastevere, Rome (1).

Birth. (No date found), Rome. Of a noble family. His last name is also listed as Mizo. Related to Cardinal Alessio (1188).

Cardinalate. Created cardinal deacon of S. Eustachio in the consistory of February/March 1158. Subscribed papal bulls issued between April 24, 1158 and July 30, 1159; February 26, 1161 and July 27, 1165. Participated in the papal election of 1159, in which Pope Alexander III was elected. Between 1159 and 1168, he conducted three legations in Hungary and Dalmatia; during the first two, he obtained the recognition and the reinforcement of the obedience to Pope Alexander III; during the third, the ordering of the ecclesiastical conditions of the kingdom. In 1164, he went to Sardinia where he tried to bring the Camaldolese of northern Italy to the recognition of the pope. Opted for the order of cardinal priests and the title of S. Lorenzo in Damaso in 1165/1166. Subscribed papal bulls issued between November 11, 1166 and July 17, 1174; and June 18 and July 7, 1182. He maintained close relations with England and the English court.

Originally published : Lipsiae : Veit et comp., 1885-1888), II, 145, indicates that he signed papal bulls for the last time on July 7, 1182.

Birth. (No date found), Nîmes, France. Of an important family. He is also listed as Raimundus de (H)arenis and as Raimondo.

Education. He studied canon law as well as Roman law. Obtained the title of magister.

Early life. He practiced law in Avignon and Arles. Canon of the cathedral chapter of Beauvais from 1149 to 1158. Apostolic scriptor.

Cardinalate. Created cardinal deacon of S. Maria in Via Lata in the consistory of February/March 1158. Subscribed papal bulls issued between February 24, 1158 and May 12, 1159; May 6, 1162 and July 27, 1165. Legate of Pope Adrian IV in Spain. Participated in the election of Antipope Victor IV in 1159. He participated in the Synod of Pavia, February 5 to 13, 1160. Returned to the obedience of the legitimate Pope Alexander III ca. 1162 and moved to Montpellier.

Opted for the order of cardinal priests and the title of S. Marco at the end of 1167 (1). Subscribed papal bulls issued between January 23, 1168 and May 24, 1181; July 7, 1182 and November 11, 1185; December 16, 1185 and October 24, 1186; February 11, 1188 and July 23, 1190. He was present in Venice, in 1177, at the reconciliation of Pope Alexander III and Emperor Friedrich I. Cardinal primoprete from 1187 until 1190. Participated in the papal election of 1181, in which Pope Lucius III was elected. Participated in the papal election of 1185, in which Pope Urban III was elected. Participated in the first papal election of 1187, in which Pope Gregory VIII was elected. Participated in the second papal election of 1187, in which Pope Clement III was elected. Legate in Lombardy, France, Hungary and England.

Episcopate. Opted for the order of cardinal bishops and the suburbicarian see of Palestrina before September 18, 1190. Consecrated (no information found). Birth. (No date found), Naples. Of the counts of Pietrabondante. Son of Burellus de Sangro. He was called Sangrino. He is also listed as Simone only. His first name is also listed as Simon and as Simeone; and his last name as Borelli.

Education. Entered the Order of Saint Benedict (Benedictines) at the monastery of Subiaco.

Early life. Abbot of the monastery of Subiaco in 1149; and again in 1167.

Cardinalate. Created cardinal deacon of S. Maria in Domnica in the consistory of February/March 1158. Rector of Campania. Participated in the election of Antipope Victor IV in 1159. He retired to Subiaco and died there. It is not known if he ever reconciled with the legitimate Pope Alexander III.

Death. Not before November 1183, Subiaco. Buried (no information found).
