Birth. January 3, 1711, Monteroni, archdiocese of Bari. Of the noble family of the princes of Zurlo. Youngest of the six children of Prince Giacomo Capece Zurlo and Ippolita Sambiase. The other siblings were Giovanni Antonio, Beatrice, Vittoria, Nicola and Giovanna. His last name is also listed as Capicio.

Education. Studied at the Theatine school of S. Paolo, Naples, from 1722; entered the Congregation of the Clerics Regular Theatines; professed, January 6, 1727 (1). Received the diaconate, February 28, 1733. Studied philosophy and theology in Theatine houses of study, Rome.

Priesthood. Ordained, December 19, 1733. In his order, lector of philosophy, House Ss. Apostoli, for nine years; lector of theology; minister; consultor; vice-provost and lector of philosophy, House S. Silvestro, Rome. When he was going to be elected procurator general of his order in 1756, the pope promoted him to the episcopate.

Episcopate. Elected bishop of Calvi, May 24, 1756. Consecrated, May 27, 1756, Rome, by Cardinal Giuseppe Spinelli.

Birth. January 20, 1710, Livorno (1). Of a family owner of a large mercantile business in Livorno, of which city they became citizens in 1717; and nobles in 1770. Patricians of Pisa in 1740. Son of Jacopo Finocchietti-Fauloni. He had three older brothers, Gianpietro, Giuseppe Eugenio. His last name is also listed as De Finocchietti and Fauloni Finocchietti.

Education. Followed the appropriate studies for an ecclesiastical career.

Sacred orders. (No information found).

Cardinalate. Created cardinal and reserved in pectore in the consistory of December 16, 1782; published in the consistory of December 17, 1787; received the red hat n December 20, 1787; and the deaconry of S. Angelo in Pescheria on March 10, 1788. Assigned to the SS. CC. of Bishops and Regulars, Consulta, Ecclesiastical Immunity, and Good Government. Protector of the Archconfraternity of SS. Sagramento in S. Maria ad Martyres. Opted for the deaconry of S. Agata in Suburra, March 30, 1789. He was ascribed to the patriciates of Ancona, Orvieto and Macerata. He fractured his knee while climbing the steps in the pontifical chapel to pay the customary obedience to Pope Pius VI. The accident caused a chronic illness and lack of appetite which eventually produced his death.

Death. Friday October 11, 1793, very early in the morning, of an apoplexy, after receiving all the sacraments, Rome. Exposed in the parish church of S. Andrea delle Fratte, Rome, where the funeral took place, celebrated by Cardinal Tommaso Antici, camerlengo of the Sacred College of Cardinals; and buried in front of the chapel of SS. Sagramento in his deaconry On the following day, the monks of Monte Vergine, who had the charge of the church of S. Agata in Suburra, celebrated a solemn funeral. His nephew, Giacomo, son of Giovanni, placed an inscription in his memory.
