(52) 1. OLIVIERI, Fabio (1658-1738)

Birth. April 29, 1658, Pesaro. Son of Gian Andrea Olivieri and Giulia Albani. Cousin of Pope Clement XI. Relative of Cardinal Annibale Albani (1711). His last name is also listed as Abati Olivieri; and as Abbati Olivieri.

Education. (No information found).

Priesthood. Ordained (no further information found). Through the intercession of Cardinal Gian Francesco Albani, of whom he was a cousin, he first received a rich benefit from the Patrirachal Vatican basilica, which he exchanged a few years later with a canonicate in the Patriarchal Lateran basilica. Named assistant to the secretariat of the Briefs. He was appointed secretary of the Briefs on November 24, 1700. Named referendary of the Signatures of Justice and of Grace, May 22, 1706. Named pro-prefect of the Apostolic Palaces on October 1, 1712; occupied the post until May 6, 1715. He was also treasurer of the Fabbrica di S. Pietro and a member of the Congregations of Rites, Indulgences and Propaganda Fide.

Cardinalate. Created deacon in the consistory of May 6, 1715. Received the red hat and the deaconry of Ss. Vito, Modesto e Crescenzia, September 23, 1715. Participated in the conclave of 1721, which elected Pope Innocent XIII. Participated in the conclave of 1724, which elected Pope Benedict XIII. Participated in the conclave of 1730, which elected Pope Clement XII.

Death. February 9, 1738, Rome. Buried in the floor of the church of Ss. Vito, Modesto e Crescenzia, Rome (1).
