Birth. (No date found), Rome. He is also listed as Ranieri, Rainier and Rainerius.
Education. (No information found).
Early life. On February 27, 1041, he appears as abbot of the monastery of Ss. Cosma e Damiano in Trastevere, Rome.
Cardinalate. Created pseudocardinal bishop of Palestrina in the consistory of October 2 (or 12), 1058; he also became rector and dispensator of the monastery of Ss. Cosma e Damiano. Consecrated (no information found). He lost his diocese during the pontificate of Pope Nicholas II; by January 8, 1060, there was a successor occupying the see. He claimed the abbacy and on November 22, 1061, he is mentioned as abbot for the last time.
Death. After November 22, 1061, (no place found). Buried (no information found).
