Then, studied in the Seminary of Trnava, earning a doctorate in Philosophy, October 1808. Studied at the University of Pest, where he obtained a doctorate in philosophy on October 25, 1808; and another in theology on April 2, 1813. Received the subdiaconate on October 29, 1809; and the diaconate on November 1, 1809.

Priesthood. Ordained, November 5, 1809. In the diocese of Rozsnyó (now Roznava, Slovakia), professor and rector of its minor seminary; professor of philosophy and theology of its seminary for ten years; custodian canon of its cathedral chapter, 1819; assessor of its episcopal consistory; archdeacon of Tornen and of Iászoven; canon of the cathedral chapter, 1824.

Episcopate. Elected bishop of Rozsnyó January 28, 1828. Consecrated, March 25, 1828, Nagyvárad, by Franec Laicsak, bishop of Nagyvárad. Transferred to the see of Pécs, February 18, 1839. Promoted to the metropolitan see of Esztergom, September 28, 1849. Death. October 19, 1866, Budapest. Exposed in the metropolitan cathedral of Esztergom, where the funeral took place on October 23, 1866, and buried in that metropolitan cathedral.
